Dark as ebony, La Belle Empoisonneuse first seduces with its sweet aromas of cocoa, cinnamon and ginger. Then, like an insidious venom, it creeps up and leaves you with a spicy bite banishing its first caress and extending its clutch in a powerful and lustful dissent.

Pours a real dark brown colour, close to black, but with ruby highlights. Big frothy mocha-coloured head with good retention and creamy lacing. Aromas dark fruits, roasted malts and spices. This is where the ginger and cinnamon stands out. The mouthfeel is smooth. The taste starts off smoothly as well with well-blended roasted malts, dark fruit, cocoa and then it hits you. The spices seem like chipotle, so a nice burn results. After a little while good coffee notes appear in the aftertaste. Quite a nice dark brew with lots going on, but all very well balanced.
