Nice beer but no way in hell is this a strong ale. Very tame stout with just mild sweetness. Pitch black, with a full tan head. Decent lacing that fades away pretty quickly. Nice nutty aroma, with some cocoa, apple peels and potato. Taste is light, chocolatey, toasty and super easy to sip on. Mouthfeel is really fun. Has an interesting slippery character to it if that makes sense. Like when I take a drink it's quick down the hatch and hardly any taste lingering around the mouth. Hard to believe it's 7.0%. Nice, easy drinking mellow oatmeal sotut.

I had Legacy Noreaster Ale on tap at the Grey Lodge and it appears that the recipe has changed dramatically from when the last reviewer tasted this. This year it is an Oatmeal Stout and not a Strong Ale. It poured a dark black colored body with a decent tan head that left minor lacing. It had a very smooth taste with a nice roasted coffee flavor. Personally I like the new version as a Stout lover, but I wish they would have changed the name.

Poured a dark amber color with a small off white head. Rather weak aroma of sweet malt and even some cheese. Overall this was a very malty beer, taste was sweet malt, althought the mouthfeel was weak as well.
