Me and the Dev-Ale is a rustic brew inspired by the MIssissippi Delta Blues and its folklore. Our Autumnal release from the Lazy Magnolia Back Porch series is an 8% ABV Mississippi Strong Ale that pours a dark and sinister ruby red beneath a creamy off-white head. The seductive caramel-sweetness is enveloped by resinous pine and citrus hops aroma, while delivering to the palate sweet biscuit, with a deluge of spicy hop bitterness in the finish. Find yourself at the "crossroads" of alluring malt character and deviant hop backbone in this infamous ale, while celebrating the Blues Legends of the Mississippi Delta.

The Dev-Ale has a fairly thin, off-white head, a clear, sparkling, copper appearance, and minimal lacing. The aroma is of light citrus, pine, and sweet candi sugar. Flavor is mostly of those things, with some breadiness and just a touch of alcohol, way in the back. The mouthfeel is mostly thin and a bit slick, it finishes mostly dry. Overall its easy drinking, and is pretty good.

Comes out of the growler a beautiful, bubbly dark amber with a very thick and rather persistent pale buff head. Aroma is not strong, but invites with citrus, malty and evergreen tones. Pleasing flavor echoes the malty, evergreen and citrus notes of the aroma, making it seem rather like an IPA - an Imperial IPA, perhaps, what with its subtle alcohol nip. Texture is smooth, though a bit lacking in fizz and firmness. Don't be lazy - drink 'er down!

Wish list beer, obviously because of the Blues inspiration for this one. Blues themed label too. And the PfoxyJohn picked one up for me on his jaunt thru the Delta on the way to the Hootenanny... Deep amber pour with a short tight white head which reduces to a constant cap leaving copious amounts of lazy lacing. Deep pine and citrus hops in the nose and flavors, nice caramel sweetness to balance the hops monsters, lightly boozy but still drinks under the 8% ABV, very nice bitter linger. More caramel as it warms a bit. Big beer. Big Blues. Big thanks to Big John. Exceeded my expectations with this one. Loved it. Want more.

A bright orange amber in color with a moderate, three fingered sudsy textured off white head rising above. There's good hang time. Settles into a moderate ringlet. The nose is light, piney. The taste more of the same with a bready malt strong on the palate. Smooth and very drinkable.
