A Switchback is a path to the summit for the determined and adventurous. It takes a little longer and more work to get there but is always worth it. This light-bodied beer with slight bitterness is for those who appreciate the journey as much as the destination. Switchback pours with a brilliant golden hue and dense white foam. Aromatics are of fresh-cut hay with slight floral notes and the unmistakable graininess that is the hallmark of a traditional German-style pilsner. The mouth feel is light-bodied with a subtle hint of citrus and the pleasant tanginess of Hallertau hops. Finishes clean and refreshing. Recipe by our resident Dane, Dan Unkerskov. Malts: 2-Row Pale, Pilsen, Flaked Wheat Hops: Magnum, Hallertau

Pours a golden colour, pretty clean overall with just a tad haze. The frothy white head is big, decent lasting with some foamy lacing. Cereal grain aromas with some light grassy notes. Malty taste with some hints of honey, lemon and the hops adding some bitterness in the finish. Decent for a North-American pils, but not as refreshing as most Euro ones. A heavier, richer version.

473ml tallboy from LCBO. Pours an average size frothy off-white head and has a pale golden appearance. Some thick dirty lacing remains. Pretty good retention. Lively carbonation. Aromas of sweet and bready malts, subtle notes of pine. Flavours are mostly the grainy and sweet malts but with a little bit of fruity notes but fairly faint. Average slightly wet mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.
