Pours hazy amber with copper hues and tan head. The mild aroma emits some caramel, toffee, a touch of black licorice like spice, faint dark fruity esters and some roasted malts. The taste is a tad prickly with carbonation and with yeasty spices and then it quickly begins to pull up various dark fruits and caramel. By about midway molasses helps take this to the finish. At the end dark fruity esters, faint molasses persist along with roasted malt notes and a sense of pepperiness. Nice offering indeed where these notes play together very well but it needs to warm a bit since it is served too cold creating a bit of harshness and slight metallic notes.
