Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8
This beer pours a black color with a thin orangey tanned head with nice lacing and a thin creaminess that only nitrogen can give. The aroma is fairly light and tame with chocolate and coffee cake predominated. Also some cake and vanilla in the nose. The mouthfeel is silky and coating...chocolate absolutely carressing the tongue as is evidenced by that nitrogen influence. Totally roasted malt, vanilla, caramel nuts, and more roasts... burnt it all down.. the roof is on fire type roasted malts. Long bittering finish left on the sides of the tongue....oily oily mouthfeel...buttery and long-lasting. Dry finish, malty and hoppy all at once...well balanced, well defined, well produced imperial. Little to no alcohol presence and very light on the carbonation. Worth picking a few up again for sure.
