On doit Limoilou partiellement à William Hedley Anderson, fils de parents écossais, une sorte d’initiateur d’un quartier ouvrier nommé Hedleyville. C’était tout naturel de confectionner une scotch ale en l’honneur du fermier, et se permettre en même temps de l’imaginer s’en couler une honorant lui-même ses origines.

    Pours a dark amber colour with golden highlights. The head is light-beige, with average retention and some decent creamy-foamy lining lacing, and spots. A minty, herbal hoppiness in the aromas, over the sweet malt base and good maple notes. Hints of wheat-bananas do come out with time. The maple nicely comes out in the taste, and the hops do cut the sweetness. Not syrupy at all, going down nicely, and not too thick. Grassiness lingers, but not as minty as the nose. Quite a nice, real maple, thinner Wee Heavy with higher hoppiness.
