http://www.letspour.com/deals/3075-De-Gayant-la-Goudale-Noel Biere de Garde is the simple, straight-forward country beer of Flanders, France. It's frequently made as an ale but this version, from the large producer, Les Brasseurs de Gayant, is a lager - a big, two-fisted lager that feels, tastes, and drinks like a strappin', medium-bodied ale. There is a regular Goudale that's a much simpler recipe and then there's this lovely Golden with an artful infusion of a special blend of spices and all-Flanders hops that work together to make this one of the best easy-sippin' Winter Seasonals we've found yet. Notes of caramel, hazelnuts, sesame, chocolate, white raisins, and treacle dominate but the suggestion of pine needles and fresh dill is flattering and unmistakable. If you like your Christmas beer a bit on the lighter side, here's a French Kiss that'll warm your cockles!

A copper colored beer with a big fluffy textured beige tinted-white head rising robustly above. There's very good hang time as the head transitions to a thick cap with puffs of film. A yeasty sour, grassy-malt nose. Sweet, caramel-toffee with orange peel. Spices? Light-medium bodied.
