This full bodied beer, of moderate bitterness, lightly hopped and rich in malt for a well-balanced character leads to a full flavoured, intense finish. Expressing this distinctive, high quality premium specialty with rich malty and roasted, warm aromas it is naturally brewed according to the German Purity law of 1516. Appearance: Try this delicious original import from Germany, almost impenetrably black with a glimmer of deep, golden brown.

Pours a super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of beer form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is mainly of malt and caramel-like aromas. Taste is much the same with dark roasted malt and burnt toast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is fairly decent, easy to drink.

Interesting for a dark beer it has just almost a fizz to it.has light aromas of malt, grains and peanuts.sort of has a strange mouthfeel it's clean but coats your tongue. Flavor is not very complex and a little watered down. Would be a good beer to introduce to someone not use to dark complex beer.

Single brown bottle from Marché Omni. Pours a dark colour with red highlights. Big frothy light beige head that last quite long, with decent lacing. Fruity aromas of malts, with hints of nuts, roasted malts and burnt cereals. Medium-light bodied with an oily and wet mouthfeel. The taste is a little milder than the nose. Roasted cereal malts and watered-down coffee. Easy-drinking schwarbier.

Comes out of the tap a deep warm sable with a thick, fine-bubbled light tan head. Malty aroma has a smoky undertone and subtle chocolate and coffee hints. Crisp, malty, lagerish flavor has nutty and coffee undertones and a hint of semi-sweet chocolate. Smooth, fairly fizzy texture is rather pleasant.

A muddy brown colored beer with a medium sized frothy textured white head that rises briefly above. It settles leaving a thick ringlet and light dusting of film. The nose is roasty butteriness. That butter is in the tasting as is a roasted malt. It does get better as it warms. Light-medium bodied with some smoothness.
