Jopen Hoppenbier is the only three-grain beer in the world with a double hopping. A fresh beer with a soft malty start taste by the wheat and oats and a long-flowing, bitter aftertaste. This blonde beer is a replica of a city beer from Haarlem and is brewed according to the brewer's choice (prescribed city recipe) from 1501.

This beer is older than I am. A recipe dating back to 1501 it’s a Dutch originated Belgian Ale currently back in Dutch territory. It appears as a cloudy light yellow liquid with a weak bubbly white head. The aroma has some tripel characteristics to it with notes of yeast, honey, grains, and citrus. The flavour has a definite spicy and citrusy hop note to it with the malt in the background.

Pours a clear amber with a thick eggshell head. Crisp, malty, slightly fruity aroma invites a taste. Crisp flavor is malty and a little fruity; a snippet of yeast sneaks in. Texture is smooth and fairly fir, but typical. Still, a worthy beer that I am glad has finally found its way to Atlanta.

Hazy golden yellow with white foam head, lacing and lasting. Aroma is bitter hops with traces of grain, malt, bread. Nice bitter taste, and decent longer lasting bitter atertate. Good beer. (Velp 201211)

Hazy golden colour, small white creamy head. Aroma is barnyardish and slight caramellish. Flavour is sour acidic citrus and barnyard. Quite twisted and weird beer, but still refreshing and quite interesting mix.

300 ml bottle, bought in Frederikshavn, Denmark. ABV is 6.8%. Top fermented blonde ale, brewed since 1994, allegedly replicated from a city of Haarlem recipe from 1501. Cloudy golden colour, huge head. Yeasty and fruity aroma, notes of barnyard and rotting/fermenting apples and pears. Flavour and aftertaste are fruity and mildly acidic, hints of oak and spices. Good beer!
