Poured a redish brown color. Medium head and good lacing. Aroma was brown sugar smokyness and something else sweet. Flavor was much the same some chocolate and caramel. Was a little to sweet for me but not bad.

Poured a brown color, reddish hues throughout the body. Nice intial tannish type head, good lacing. The aroma was sweet malts, some smoked peat, brown sugar. The flavor followed suit with some light caramel and chocolate notes in there, definitely a malty little sucker, on the sweet side, yet pretty drinkable (especially within a style that I don't normally find to be that drinkable), perhaps because the body wasn't sticky and it finished with a touch of dryness. The alcohol was invisible. Enjoyable, despite not being at the very top of the class.

GABF '03. The highest rating I gave to a Scottish Ale at the 'fest (shows what I know, huh?). Anyway, cloudy amber color with malty bitter warm finish.

Stoudts Brewfest: Poured a hazy copper color with a small off white head. Aroma of roast sweet caramel malt, bread, and light smoke. Chocolate roast, peat, and caramel malt taste. An ass-kickin Scotch!
