Originally rated January 14, 2018 - Says perfect as winter warmer - so this is a nice day for this (stupid polar vortex). Aromas of chocolate and molasses at first. Then, hints of coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts, nuts and vanilla. Dark brown colour with ruby highlights. Mucho-coloured head, fizzing away rather quickly with not much lace. The taste is rich and quite sweet in the middle with a little bitterness in the finish to balance things. Roasted malts, loads of sugars, light coffee and bitterness building. Seems a little too rich all-over-the-place with not much really going on. If you like the Wee Heavy sweetness, but in a stout, this might be your thing.
