A redish brown dunkle, that is a first rate example of the style as brewed in BAWU. The body is medium, but the malt is roasted to perfection, with some delicte undertones of rasins, and creosote. The finish is more hoppy then the Bavarian style. For the price, .3 Euro in .33 liter bottles, this is a fine bier that works well with other lighter colored brews for an evening of pork and porking. Looking foward to the ENDE bock coming soon from the same outfit...

Have had this several times, including out of a brewery-fresh tap, but usually bottled. Unfiltered, so a little hazy, but not as much as expected. Amber color, much darker than I expected for the style. Smell and taste both feature more of a peach profile than the expected lemon and orange. Light and zesty, refreshing mouthfeel.

Good version of dunkle brewed to the local style.Nice flavor of creosote and dried grapes, with a clean hop break in the after taste. First one is ok-second better, 6-8 hey Buddy!! Clean bier the next day, good at time of consumption, not the best, but damn nice at the right price.
