Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Strong Ale: White Out pours a dark chestnut brown. The khaki head leaves a small soapy lace ring which remains around the top of the beer. The spectacular aroma of buttery caramel malt and bourbon hit you first, followed by a subtle citrus fruit. Smooth bourbon oak and vanilla blend well with the sweet caramel malts. White Out goes down smooth with a slow, lingering bitterness.

Not sure this us an IPA as advertised. A bold amber colored beer with a big sudsy textured off white head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. A thick ringlet is formed. Bourbon and oak dominate in a high octane beer that is slick on the tongue

Decent beer and flavor, though it is missing some hops for a DIPA or "Imperial IPA" as the label says.. Makes the balance a bit off, and the feel is a bit flat. I like the flavor from the bourbon aging, and not overly sweet. Some citrus notes in there, but not very representative of the style....more like a strong ale to me. Perhaps meant to be some kind of hybrid. Was worth the try to share, but not something I would go looking for.
