Blind Spot - Dark Specialty Ale: Blind Spot is ideal for the colder months, but perfectly enjoyable any time of the year. Fermented with a traditional English yeast. Wonderfully robust, full-bodied with a rich and warming finish. We have added a light dosing of dried ginger, cardamon, grain of paradise and star anise to the whirpool for some enjoyable spicing.

Sampled on 1/28/2012. This spiced/herb ale pours a very dark reddish brown/black color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized tan foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet, spicy with a hint of ginger. A medium bodied spice/herb/vegetable ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and herbal. Mild carbonation. Malt forward, but not sweet. An interesting mix of spices. Its herbal, earthy, and spicy with a touch of hotness. Very smooth and mellow. Nice sipping beer. This beer would make a great Winter Warner session ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
