A dry, heavily hopped strong pale ale with an extremely light colour. Originally commissioned by the National Maritime Museum for the quarter centenary celebrations of the defeat of the Spanish Armada by Sir Francis Drake. We were requested to continue production by numerous devotees.

Another fantastic bitter from Harvey's. I enjoyed this beer at the brewery in Lewes, GB and highly enjoyed the beer. This was a full bodied and easy drinking bitter and a great representative of the ESB style. Harvey's is a must do if in South East GB.

Cask@Royal Oak. Pale amber colour, not much head. Aroma is malts, hops, herbs and some spices. Flavour is spicy, malty, hoppy and has some grassy hints in it also. Very pleasantly mixed. aftertaste is mainly herbs and spices.

This is an average strength UK bitter, but a real class act. The quality is unassailable. Dark brown in appearance, well hopped and with an excellent mouth feel. On the nose its a bit muted but the hop content is high, and I would take a guess that it's dry hopped after brewing. About 28 units of bitterness at a guess. Those hops stay with you for a long time but its a fruity drink - the balance is good with malt and some crystal malt underlying to give interest. This isn't a beginners bitter - it's very complex, and a better introduction to Harveys Beers is to be found in their pale ale.
