Bottled as Obama Presidential Ale 08. Like the president this beer was made for in support of, it fails on so many levels. First, you’d think that to celebrate a momentus occasion (despite on his failure so far) they’d create a new beer, not just relabel an old one. But that’s what they did. And then, they didn’t relabel a good beer, but a crappy pale lager. C’mon.

The beer pours out a clear dark yellow color with a quick dissapearing act of a head. Aroma is musty grain, green apples and a bit of hay. Flavor has some mild vegie sweetness and little else. Just an awful beer

Tasted 2/14/2009. This pale lager pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle of Mavericks Obama 08). Large sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral and hoppy, with a hint of orange. A medium to light bodied lager. The malts are fruity and sweet, a touch of cereal. The hops are floral and crisp, a touch spicy. Kind of hoppy for a lager, but it works. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice hints of orange and orange rind. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

For a light ale, this was pretty darn good. Most usually turn me off but this was drinkable. I only had a small sample of this. Had a bready flavor to it.
