Great Lakes Nosferatu

Pours clear chestnut with a thick and rather persistent frothy buff head. Aroma promises with malt, hops and yeast. Flavor is a little better, hoppy and woody with roast malt, caramel and fruity supporting notes. Mouthfeel has decent body and fizz. Sink your teeth into it any time of year.

Amber pour with a medium sized white head which faded fairly quickly. Nice amount of lace. Sweet taste with a citrus aftertaste. Little bit of hop bitterness is also present. Must try this again.

Perfectly balanced for a big beer. The sweet malt really comes through and the mouthfeel is rich without being too thick and cloying. Then the ample hops shine through. Not so much in the aroma but definitely in the flavor and general bitterness.

Not too many reviews from the Spring since this is a fall release. I'm impressed enough to leave this on my wish list in hopes of trading for a super fresh one next fall. The one I'm drinkin is 18 weeks old, which I was very apprehensive about due to the style (imperial red). Turns out, it's really nice 4+ months old, and I imagine fanfreakintastic fresh. The pine centric bitter hops are still very pleasant, but have obviously faded. Colored like a dark oktofest or Irish red. The malts used are complex and very pleasant. This brew smells md tastes fruity, almost berry like, with caramel, biscuit and a distinct nuttiness that all go well with the hops. Another winner from a top brewery. Pretty mix what I was hoping for...even more impressive given the date. Trade via Heybeerman. Thanks, bro.

Clear redish yellow color with White foam head. Quite bitter hoppy aroma and taste. The taste of taste of this beer is perfect with the meal ordered. Truly like these beers. (Cleveland 201210)

pours a nice redish color with a ok head that sticks around only for a short time. a wonderful aroma of fruit and spices rise up from the bottle, sort of like the nosferatu does at night. You can taste the sweet caramel, with a nice touch of nuttyness, but overall a well balanced high hopped ale.

poured a deep copper color with medium head that lasted for a couple minutes. could defiantly taste the hops. The hops were almost too over powering on the first sip, but after that the flavor was pleasant.

Pours a reddish-copper with near perfect clarity, small lasting head, nice lacing. When I opened the bottle, a big, bold, piney smell wafted straight to my nose. It was an awesome way to form a first impression. Great aroma, now judging from a proper glass. There are ample malt notes (toffee, nuts, general roastiness) to balance the hops once the beer is poured; ripe fruit notes add complexity. Malt and hops really share center stage in the flavor profile but the hopping alone lends a clean finish. Medium bodied and vigorously carbonated. The alcohol is well concealed by deliciousness. Smells strongly of fresh caramel malts and sticky sweetness (like wort on the boil). Red hazy color with a light tan head. Flavor is more caramel malt, some biscuit and a good dose of hops. The balance is questionable but the flavor is good, I'd drink this again.

Caramel brown color, smallish head. Moderate tea-bag like aroma. Bitter pine hops smack you from the get go, with some tea and caramel like flavors. Pretty straight-forward. Very dry mouthfeel. Since this is listed as a Halloween release, was somewhat concerned the hoppage would diminish, but this is still pretty bitter.
