Pilsner lager is named after the Bohemian town of Plzen, where it was first brewed in 1842. It became an immediate success. The town is now part of the Czech Republic and is known for, you guessed it, Pilsner beer. Brewed with authentic Czech Saax hops and yeast, our limited release Pilsner is aged for over six weeks, giving this golden beer a smooth flavour, with a refreshing hop finish.

Tall can part of mixed pack. Pours an average size frothy white head and has a pale golden appearance. Big thick soapy lace remains. Aromas of grains and some wheaty notes. Flavours are mostly like aromas, maybe a bit more malty but with very subtle grassy and herbal hop notes.

First off, this limited release from Granville Island, for summer, is not one of their best offerings. That said, it pours with a light gold colour and an adequate white head. Both the aroma and taste have too much malt and note enough hops for a Bohemian, and the taste is a tad sweet as well. Otherwise, taste is decently crisp but more hops, please!
