Our IMPERIAL CHOCOLATE STOUT is rich and warming, a perfect complement to cold winter nights. Deep black in colour, it’s brewed with four malt varieties, hops from the Pacific Northwest and organic, fair-trade chocolate from Rogers’ Chocolates. TASTING NOTES Mellow hop bitterness combines with roast malt, cocoa and coffee flavours to give the impression of a bittersweet mocha. FOOD PAIRINGS Pairs well with holiday favourites like ginger bread or fruit cake but might be best served on its own as dessert.

beerdogs must have been off, because I said to myself, damn! these boys keep stepping up their game on the "limited release series". Lots of chocolate, medium bodied, slightly sweet, some roasted chesnuts, nothing spectacular but ticked all my boxes for something supremely drinkable.

What the hell happened? Previous GI chocolate stouts were very good. This was one of the worst beers I've had inflicted on me in quite a while, albeit self-inflicted. Poured a nice enough very dark brown body, so solid that NO light shone through, along with a miniature tan head. Almost no aroma. Flavour was wrong right off that bat. Tinned and cabbage taste, sour finish, really, this should've been a drain pour. I hope this was just a bad bottle or perhaps an "off" batch.
