The beer pours a dark brown with a thin tan creamy head. Aroma is fruity, with hints of licorice, chocolate, and caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour starts of with a sour hint to it, but also has hints of molasses/caramel and nuts. The sourness befuddles me. -

Bomber from the LCBO, written 6% ABV. on front label. Pours a hazy amber colour with a frothy-bubbly light-beige head, good retention and thick creamy-patchy lacing. Nice light aromas chocolate malts, sharp bitter grassy hops, citrus sourness and vanilla to calm down everything. Medium-light body with a little dry finish. Apple flavours with the caramel and chocolate malts. Hints of roasted malts with coffee, nutty yeast and mild hops to balance things. Goes down smoothly and thankful the sourness went away (as I thought it was infected).

A trip to the East Coast of Canada isn't complete without the taste of a Granite beer. The Peculiar is one of my new favourites and can be had on tap in T.O. The beer is a dark reddish brown with very little head. The aroma is juicy fruits like plums and pears, with some hoppish scents. The flavour is mainly malt, backed by mild fruity sweetness. An excellent brew.

very dark brown colour with a fine head and a perfect lacing; toasted and malty nose, solid malt-body, some sweetness and a touch of finishing bitternes; lot of character, long aftertaste

A somewhat peculiar ale yes - you can tell these guys at Granite know what they're doing. Peculiar ale had a fine quality that was present in its aroma, flavour, and especially mouthfeel. A thick and bold brew, I found one satisfying. Certainly a strong effort indeed. Im surprised more people havent caught on to this brewery.
