Very dark in color - almost mahogony and totally opaque. Aroma of roasted cofee and biscuity malts. Head was almost an afterthought - not much there. Rich mouthfeel. Flavors open with roasted coffee and move into a taste like caramel covered in bitter chocolate. Bitterness comes out towards the end and in the finish. Found slight fault in a wet cardboard flavor in the aftertaste - not always there, but when it was it was unpleasant.

Eclipse Black color, medium tan head. Aroma is coffeeish. A medium to lighter bodied stout. Roasted malt flavors are chocolate, with a touch of coffee and toffee. It appears to be dry hopped. A very drinkable stout. Creamy and toasty and smooth. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
