Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
The first thing I noted was a really strong hint of Australian Rum in the aroma of this stout, which depending on your preference of spirits could be a good or a bad thing. However, this is much lighter in the flavour of the beer, and is sweetened to some extent (actually almost as a slight Rum and Cola first taste). The mouth feel however is quite dry, and the ale leaves a rather pleasant dry cocoa, almost smoky flavour to it. The after taste it drier still, and really grabs at your tonsils on the way down, but in a nice way. Very smoky ,cocoa-y (note cocoa, not chocolate).
