Our American Style Wheat Beer is left unfiltered for fuller flavor. This Golden Wheat beer is served with a lemon or orange slice to enhance the already noticeable citrus present in the beer. A light body and smooth aroma make this a delightful sipping beer.

Sampled on 9/9/2010. This wheat ale pours a dark orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, quickly dissipating. The aroma is fruity and cereal, a touch of bread and sweet. A medium bodied wheat beer. The malts are cereal and grainy, touch of banana and clove. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. There is a touch of sweetness and/or syrupiness at the finish, not really bad tasting, but a little unexpected. Also picking up some orange peel and orange rind. Kind of a different wheat beer, it has more fruit and less cereal grain than the usual wheat beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is somewhat sweet.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark gold with a small creamy white head that goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is subdued – some sweet wheaty malts and a little fruit and honey.
The flavor is sweet malts with some wheat, honey and vegetables and a slightly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation and is pretty watery.
Overall, an OK American wheat. Like Grand Lake’s other beers, I liked this better fresh on tap at the brewery.
