Trying to think of a name for the new brew on the eve of the beer premiere, our pub brewer opened a bottle of Goose Island Summertime for “liquid inspiration” and behold the name was born. An “American-style” Stout, with medium malt sweetness, a moderate hop bitterness but, with high hop flavor and aroma.

This beer gets honorable mention at the GTMW ecspecially since it was the only Real ale that i had that day. The only one I chose because of its name. What can I say, I love being inspired! Poured a super thick sludgey black with a small creamy brown head. Aroma is instant coffee grounds, forest floor, freshly paved blacktop and earth worms lying on the sidewalk after a rain storm. Love the nose. Taste was predictably rich and fine with dark chocolate and a long smooth espresso finish. Mouthfeel was fabulous. Not too chewy, not too rich- just right. Great beer that I would love to see in bottles around here.
