pours a reddish-brown amber color with a small tan head with some lacing remaining. The aroma is of steeped tea and holiday spices. The taste is of cinnamon and nutmeg notes with a bit of raisin and caramel as well. The mouthfeel is a medium to full body and is a very smooth and pleasantly drinking brown ale. Overall: an enjoyable, easy drinking quaff that's sure to satiate during the chilly holiday season.. I'd like to try this one fresh, but I gotta say, this 3 year old bottle appears to have aged great.

hopefully, as it states right on the label that the recipe is different every year, we can start adding different vintages to the database, ala Anchor OSA. For my money, this version was WAY better than the 12 oz 2008 I've had before. A near perfect holiday beer...lightly but obviously spiced. pleasant aroma of spices, malt, and a touch of hops. seems like a well crafted old ale underneath. flavor is much the same. dark chestnut color, medium to full bodied. very pleasant across the board.
