The label says 13.9%......I can’t taste it! The beer pours a solid black with light edges and a dark brown creamy cap. Lots of lacing. Cocoa, coffee, and anise join the roasted malt in the aromatic dance. Smells awesome. Mouthfeel is full and creamy. The taste is all dark chocolate and coffee with hints of vanilla and anise in the finish. A great beer!

Pours a thick, oily sable with a thick, chocolaty tan head. Strong, mouth-watering aroma teases the nose with roast malt, quality coffee and chocolate notes plus a touch of licorice. Rich flavor has notes of coffee, roast malt, semi-sweet chocolate, and bitter, woody hops. Firm, smooth mouthfeel has some good fizz and leaves a smoky and surprisingly hoppy finish. Only good people could have brewed a beer this good. Man your X-wings...

Drawn thick and the deepest, darkest black with a moderate deeply tanned to light brown head with exceptional retention. Aroma of dark fruits, chocolate and espresso fill the nose. The chocolate and espresso are present from the beginning, with a hint of the alcohol (it is 13.9% afterall). Thick and heavy and creamy in the mouth in a pleasant way. As good as it was, would be soooo much better on a cold winter day - or even a cool late fall day. Maybe the best (I'd have to look back at my ratings) Russian Impy that I've ever had.
