The adventure is in the bottle! Rock Hard Ten Ale. Neither seem to have been successful at making money, and Golden West is taking a shot at making even better beers that will attract buyers willing to pay the costs of production. Mateveza was one of those endeavors.

This Imperial IPA pours a medium amber color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel malts and grapefruity hops. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. Lots of slightly roasted malt flavor. The hops are grapefruity and piney. A decent balance between the malts, hops and alcohol. Good carbonation. Butte Creek Big beers are usually Train Wrecks, this one is very good, a nice balance of flavors. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. The aftertaste is bitter with a touch of alcohol.
