500 ml capped bottle bought at the brewery. Poured in the special Glückauf designed Schwarzes tulip glass a clear rich-burgundy coloured Schwarzes with a one finger tan creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is heavy roasted malts, caramel, fruity, plums, nuts and ashes. The flavour is roasted malts, burned coffee beans, brown sugar and a touch of smoke. The mouthfeel is sparkling, quite thin and even watery. This light bodied Schwarzes has a dry roasted malts finish. The palate and the tongue are far-away from the smell promises.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Very deep ruby red colour, close to black, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is nuts, some roasted malts, mild toffee as well as mild syrupy "thickness". Flavour is roasted malts, some slight smoked notes as well as breadyness, some syrupy sweetness as well as caramel. Also some slight bitterness. Not all that sweet as for the flavour.
