Shared 750 ml bottle, ABV 8.7%. From Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Hazy deep reddish brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Very nice aroma of rich malts, brown kandij sugar, molasses and Belgian ale yeast. Malty flavour, moderate notes of kandij sugar, but not too sweet. Very moderate hops (Aalst Hallertauer).

Acquired at a restaurant for the first-ever meeting of the Alexandria Brew Crew with Foam Dome, mwiscount, and Frodo_Baggins. Truly brown and a little cloudy, served with a faint cap. Tart but raisiny with a Belgian yeast aroma. Flavor is totally Scottish ale, yet totally Belgian: easily identified as both. An unusual yet pleasant experience!

Sampled on 10/22/2011. This scotch ale pours a medium amber brown color from a 750ml bottle. Medium to small sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel, fruity, peaty and sweet. A medium bodied Scotch Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity, candi sugar and sweet. The hops are herbal and floral. A touch sweet, but sort of balanced by some nice smoky, peaty flavors as well. Mild carbonation. Smooth taste. Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and smooth. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet

This is a great winter seasonal. It pours a deep brown colour, quite murky, with a tan coloured head. Roasted malt, molasses, and licorice dominate the aroma. The flavour is just as 'dark' and complex with a sweet and warming feel.

Bottle courtesy of Secret Santa: Poured a deep brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of fruity sweet ester with some dry fruits and some candi sugar. Taste is also a very nice mix between some dry fruits such as figs and raisins as wall as sweet fruity ester that are totally perfect for the style. Full body with limited filtration with some perfect carbonation and no discernable alcohol. Very complex but easily drinkable at the same time, definitely a beer that I would like to have access to regularly.

Pours with a slightly cloudy, brown body topped by a thin head with little lacing. It’s sweet and malty wtih lots of toffee notes and a touch of cramel. medium bodied and highly carbonated.

As Canaster Winterscotch (8.7%). Amber colour, big foamy/creamy beige head. Aroma is slightly alcohol, bigtime malts, some burnt sugar, tyeast and some hops. Some caramel also noteable. Flavour is caramel, alcohol, salted licorace and some sweetish malty tones. Some dark fruits in the aftertaste. Alcohol warms in the finish.

Another KP 26 fest brew. A dark brown appearance. The flavor is yeasty with some caramel, chocolate, honey, and brown sugga. Peat malt is definitley in this one. Not a bad one.
