Brewed exclusively with home-grown ingredients, Vintage Ale 2018 tips its cap to our enduring association with the hop growers, merchants and maltsters of the UK. It’s a celebration of teamwork - an ode to long-lasting friendship - but we doubt you’ll want to share a single drop…

500 ml, bottle No. 026773, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 8.5%. Tawny colour, large white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma of dark dried fruits, sultanas, oak and sweet biscuits. Moderately sweet flavour with the same elements, also hints of dried apricots and caramel, moderate hops (Ernest and Olicana, Target, Goldings, Challenger and Northdown). Smooth mouthfeel Very drinkable already, no sharp edges.

The beer pours a beautidul translucent cherry red colour with a bubbly light tan coloured head which lasts a few minutes. The aroma is caramel, some roasted malt, herbal hops, and light nutty notes. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, slightly creamy, and slightly over-carbonated. The flavour is nutty malt, caramel, some sugary sweetness, followed by a bitter hop finish. 2018 is my favourite vintage so far.
