Distinctly disappointing. Was in a pub waiting to see some bands play, and can normally trust Fullers so plumped for this. It started off mediocre and got worse as it went on. Was struggling to finish it! Maybe I got a duff one, I noticed that it was unavailable about 20 minutes later.

Cask pint at The Mawson Arms (Fuller’s brewery tap). ABV was 4.7%. Reddish brown colour, low off-white head. Malty and fruity aroma and flavour, hints of ripe berries, dry finish. Very moderate hops. Smooth to drink.

Pours out in a clear reddish brown colour with a small off-white creamy head. Hay-like and soily hops in the aroma with solid undertones offudge, nuts, almonds and milky chocolate. Medium-bodied with balanced notes of nuts, milky chocolate, straw, soil, leaves and red berries. Medium-bitter finish of soil, fudge and hay. Tasty and solid quaffer.

Cask. Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some wood, grassy, mildly yeasty as well as some berries. Flavour is rather similar with a quite bready, but bitter finish.

Reddish coloured beer, with a yeasty, caramel, malt flavour. Not too bitter, mellow and smooth. Very drinkable but I prefer Pride.
