It smells of rich milk chocolate, melted vanilla ice cream, a heady caramel malt, some further English toffee sweetness, and a tame earthy, and leafy bitterness. The taste is bittersweet cocoa, vanilla extract, biscuity caramel malt, boozy toffee candies, some of those crystalline fruit thingies that abound in desserts this time of year, and an earnest earthy, weedy, and lightly perfumed floral hoppiness. The carbonation is fairly adequate in keeping this one sane via its genial frothiness, the body a solid medium-heavy weight, and mostly smooth, with a decent creaminess improving as things warm up a tad. It finishes still trending sweet, but moderated almost enough by a latent roast and some lingering fruity tartness.
