Pours a murky Rusty brown with a smallish off white cap. Nose is complex – grains, raspberries, fruits, sour, musty, under tones like a rich madeira. Flavour follows aroma with berry fruitiness and rich madeira tones carried on a palate puckering tartness….dry fruity finish with a hint of oak. One of the first really well done domestic wild ales I have sampled. I had the opportunity to sample this side by side with some draft Rodenbach, and although they are different kinds of sour ales, I preferred the FMB Rubus.
