On the west bank of the Vltava lies the Prague neighbourhood of Smichov. Baroque, Neo-Renaissance, and Art Nouveau architectural styles mingle amongst a post-industrial background which is sprinkled with cafes, bars, and restaurants. Our Czech Dark Lager takes its name from this district that lies away from the tourist centre. Built using Raven Floor Malted Pilsen with just enough roasted malts to impart colour and notes of dates, chocolate, and mocha presented in the clean and crisp profile you expect from a lager.

Darker clean brown colour with copper-amber highlights. The head is fluffy, light beige with good retention and some good creamy-soapy lacing. Dark fruit aromas of plum, dates, prunes over the roasted malts. The flavours show more the roasted barley, mild cereal notes and a decent hoppy finish, but not too grassy. Wet, thinner mouthfeel with a touch of dryness in the end. Hints of the dark fruits lingers. A refreshing, dark lager has enough to offer, without being thick and over the top.
