Stopped by one the way up to Reno and they had this one on tap. I asked the server which barrels they used and he confirmed it was Evan Williams. Aroma has a nice balance of bourbon, vanilla, wood, light chocolate and a touch toasted malts. Flavors really focus on the bouron and wood and the rich malts kind of take a back seat. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Seems to be overly unbalanced with the bourbon, but still a really nice sipper. -

2010, black wax, evan williams i gather .. . Pours a smashed hand purple black .. . quite a lot of bourbon, but pure .. . damn enjoyable, would love to try a few of the others .. . The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread.

though the price keeps going up (enough to price me out, but a friend bought this one) the quality of the last two isn;t up to par with the Elijah Craig or heaven Hill from 09). nice bourbon vanilla roasted chocolate aroma, and it was still very very smooth, but thin. and though the flavor was quite nice, similar to the aroma, it came across as juuust a bit weaker and one dimensional. still a VERY nice beer, but at this price, it needed to be elite...and is not.
