10.4% abv is very well hidden. Initial appearance would be 9 but after 3 seconds would be 4. Dark fruity aroma with roasted malt. Roasted malt comes through more in the flavour along with prunes, raisins, vanilla and milk chocolate. Full, slick, smooth mouthfeel. Any red wine drinker would love this.

Black body...... hard aroma to find. Taste is apple and good. Sweet berry, smoke, ash. Thick and full feel. Hitting chocolate now milk chocolate. Distracted review. Mild banana........ Reminds me of icecream.... so dam good. No trace of alcohol. A soft dookie is the best dookie.

what a delicious surprise! like a hybrid of rasputin and victory at sea. strong notes of vanilla, especially in the flavor, with ample amounts of chocolate, roasted malt, and some hops to round things out nicely. quite smooth at over 10% too! wonderful beer!

Pours a deep, rich sable only a whisker or two above black with a thick, foamy, fine-bubbled light tan head that leaves some good lacing. Strong aroma is smoky with tones of semi-sweet chocolate, coffee, caramel and molasses - and, yes, there is a subtle vanilla note as well. Flavor has notes of roast coffee, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and molasses. Smooth texture has above-average body and a fair amount of fizz. This one's a winner, so look for it!

Bottled@fonefan (bought at Kihoskh, Copenhagen). Pitch black colour, not much head, but the small thing there is, is brown. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, some roasted malts, mild liquorice and some slight notes of alcohol. Flavour is being very much similar with some slight vanillaish notes as well.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.4%. Pitch black colour, big brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla. The flavour has loads of roasted malts, notes of strong coffee, dark bitter chocolate and vanilla, bitter hops in the finish. Good stuff!
