http://www.duvel.com/en-us/the-beer/duvel-draft Created by the Moortgat family, bottled Duvel is one of Belgium’s favorite ales. The secret of its success lies in using only best-quality ingredients, and in the well-balanced, very specific, complex brewing and refermentation process that takes over 90 days. After brewing and first fermentation – which takes about 30 days – the beer is tasted by the brewmaster and his staff. At this stage this beer is called “single-fermented.” Typical Duvel flavors and aromas are already emerging, but the beer is lower in alcohol and carbonation, and the taste is slightly lighter and crisper. Style Single-fermented, cold-filtered, and on draft with an ABV of 6.8% Taste Dry and crisp with mild yeasty citrus notes. More hops on the plate than in the nose. The beer is carefully balanced so that hops play off equally with malt and citrus. Intentionally not heavy or complex. Appearance Golden-blonde, fine soft carbonation, large head with good retention. The beer is transparent with no residual yeast. Lively and enticing carbonation and typical Belgian head. Aroma Subtle citrus notes, and gentle herbal, green hoppiness. Mouthfeel Light on the tongue, smooth, bright and alive. Young, crisp beer taste. Drinkability Brewed with drinkability and refreshment high in our minds. Simple, clean, easy-to-have more than one. Serving Tips Always serve in the tulip-shaped 25cl Duvel glass at 3°C.

Pours clear solar yellow with a thick and frothy parchment head. Aroma presents crisp fresh malt, stone and citrus fruit, a bit of butterscotch. Flavor offers fresh malt, zesty and sweet stone and citrus fruit, bitter hops, a butterscotch hint. Texture features good body and perky fizz. Belgians are golden.

It's hard to drink this beer after having the regular Duvel so many times. One of my first favorite Belgians, compared to this beer that I'd say is the poor man's version. Much paler color, with a healthy white, fluffy head, but not like the other. Has a grassier aroma and flavor. All around dumbed down. Crisp and drinkable, a good beer, but I wouldn't get it again after hanging on to this 4 pack for a few months.

A bright golden colored beer with a small, three fingered pillowery off white head rising above. There’s some hang time on the head. Smells of coriander, wheat, and grassy malts. Fresh and lightly bitter. The taste is of light grassy malts with a mild light bitterness over coriander and lemon citrus. Full body with light tingly carbonation on the tongue.
