A pretty nice version of a russian imperial not quite a standout. Easy drinking for the style, dominated by dark fruit, cofee & chocolate. Covers the abv quite well.

    On tap -

All the beers I had on St. Patrick's Day here were really nice, and this was one of them. Their regular stout on nitro was outta-sight great, so was their Baltic porter, so this had to deliver and it did. A nice coffee aroma, with just a bit of dark chocolate, dark fruit and Tootsie Rolls. Flavor smacks you squarely in the jaw with a rich, roasty bitterness that doesn't let up. Attenuated very nicely, with just enough sweetness left behind to really amplify the coffee aspect of the beer. I would have liked a little more chocolate in the flavor, with perhaps just a bit more sweetness, but then..I do love my impy's to be on the sweeter side of things, and I know he wasn't making this beer based on my specs. Just a really, really nice impy stout, and one I'll definitely get again and again.
