Brewed to honor Hildegard Von Bingen, a 12th century Benedictine nun who allegedly was the first to record the use of hops as an ingredient in brewing beer. We hope that Hildegard would be proud. We sure are! Our take on the classic Extra Special Bitter (ESB). Brewed with a decidedly English hop character this year, balanced by a rich & malty body. Sure to be in quick demand for all you hop lovers! Brewed to honor Hildegard Von Bingen, a 12th century Benedictine nun who allegedly was the first to record the use of hops as an ingredient in brewing beer. While this is open to some debate, we like Hildegard’s style and cant imagine beer without hops! This Extra Special Bitter has lots of hops! We hope that Hildegard would be proud. We sure are! TIME TO GET NAUGHTY!

(Beer & pic submitted 04 Mar 2010; from Libations). Poured a hazy dark orange body beneath a large ivory, rocky head. Aroma was quite hoppy with malt undertones. Flavour could've been mistaken for an IPA, for again there was a generous hop presence underpinned with caramel. Mouth began on the thin side, but as things progressed, it became more robust. Nice embossed bottle, too.
