A big, malty beast of a beer that exemplifies the way we roll here at Drake’s. Two-row malt is blended with Chocolate malt, roasted barley, and dark Crystal malts to make up the grist. Only one hop addition, Columbus, is added for bittering, allowing the abundance of malt in this beer to shine through. Enjoy the dense brownish head, the silky maltiness, and flavors of licorice, coffee and chocolate, rounded out with a slightly dry finish. here’s to those who don’t fear the mighty! Available in 22 oz bottles- due out in mid-February

Pours very brown colored. No real head to begin with, but a small one forms after you’ve poured the entire bottle into your pint. Nice sweet malty aroma, not burnt like many imperials are these days. Seetish flavors go along with that aroma. Reminds me a lot of Rasputin’s, which is sort of my unofficial benchmark of imperial stouts. No real roasty flavor. Clean aftertaste with little lingering on the palate. Very pleasant. Too bad its so expensive!

0.5L bottle with flip cap. Pours completely black with big tight bubbled head. Aroma of sweet molasses, toffee and burnt malts. Flavor is several layers of malts. I taste chocolate malts, dark roasted malts, a hint of black patent burnt malts and some sweeter caramel malts. Some molasses and toffee sweetness hits about midway. Some coffee and vanilla notes enter before the sipping experience ends.

    500ml bottle:
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a small tan head with little lace left over.
Aroma: Coffee, chocolate and dark malts
Taste: Very smooth tasting, almost creamy. Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee.
This is a very good Imperial Stout. A very smooth beer to finish off the night.

    22oz bottleut -

Reminds me of Drake's "old" imperial stout in many ways. Vanilla, coffee, caramel in both the aroma and the palate. Lots of coffee here with this one. Strong, bitter, biting coffee, nice display of hops and chocolate helping this from becoming a coffee stout.

Wow nice imperial stout!! Had a nice dark appearane. Aroma was chocolate and coffee. Taste was like the aroma. I had this beer in Santa Cruz on a nice cool evening and it warmed my belly in a pleasant way. Would have again on a nice cool night in the fall!

massive amounts of malted chocolate, a bit of licorice and coffee, and a bitter finish. at first opening the aroma was off, but not at all when i poured it. lighter than many impy's but not light. silky smooth, drinkable ris. i liked it more with each sip.
