500 ml bottle. Poured a hazy oak-burgundy colored ale with a three fingers milky-creamy beige foamy head that had a very long retention. Active carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is toasted malts, roasted coffee beans and fruity. The flavour is light caramel malts, spicy, licorice, dark bitter chocolate, fruity, ripe dark raisins, dark berries, grassy hops and a point of smoke. The mouthfeel is creamy and very smooth. This medium bodied ale has a long coffeish and malty finish. A very enjoyable ale.

Had it as Downton Dark Delight, 5.5%. Dark amberish ruby/brown colour with mediumsized bubbly head. Aroma is hops, wood, some caramel and chocolate. Flavour is sweet caramel malts as well as grass and some wooden hints. The finish gets hayish/grassy and dry. Some slight roast also, once it got warmer.

Bottle. Dark red colour with a slim, creamy white head. The bottle version is 6.0%. Aroma has coffee and chocolate, as does the taste, plus dark malts. Full bodied with a light hoppy bitter finish. Very nice.
