    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

375 ml corked and caged bottle, as a 7.5 % ABV. Poured in a snifter a gushing bomb and an unfiltered opaque dark brown-red coloured Ale with a generous two fingers tan and dense foamy head that had a long retention and tons of bubbles, micro as well as big. No carbonation. Good lacing. Many floating sediments. The aroma is strong toasted malts, yeast, spicy, cinnamom, cloves. The flavour is grainy toasted malts, yeast, caramel, dark fruits, raisins, prunes, spicy, cloves, cinnnamom, nutmeg, a touch of licorice. The mouthfeel is light sparkling, fulled and a bit syrupy. This full bodied Ale has a dry heavy malty and spicy finish. A very pleasant Belgian Strong Ale, with its chained nice warming effect. I like it.

I bought a 6 pack of this beer....4 of the bottles marked Dormaal Dark, 2 of the bottles marked Dormaal Donker. The contents looked and tasted identical so I've added both hames. The beer pours a brownish red with a thick foamy tan coloured head. The aroma is full of funk, nuts, and yeast. The flavour is again dull with the malt and funk dominating, and not much balance.
