This Brewpub Exclusive is an American Pilsner. It has a clean snappy malt base and a bodacious hop character. It was last brewed way back in 2007 and we brought it back due to popular demand. It was brewed with American Pils and Cara-pils malt, Czech Pils yeast, and a whole bunch of Palisade hops. In fact we used nearly 2# of Palisade hops per barrel including dry hops! Quadruple hopped, this is truly what an American Pilsner should be. Crisp, hoppy, and easy to drink this is a perfect companion to some of our fried calamari. Johnny Rawton Pils will go on tap at the Rehoboth Beach brewpub the week of 12/13/2010 and will be around til it is not. 35 IBUs/5%ABV. Original description, 2007 release (at 50IBUs/5%ABV) Spitting in the eye of convention, Johhny Rawton Pils is an obnoxiously American Pilsner beer. Gobs of Palisade hops deliver 50 IBUs of pure American excess to your senses. American Pilsner malt brings a bit of order to the riotous hop character. Rock on with Johnny Rawton!

Not my favorite DFH brew. Clear golden in color with a white medium sized head. Not a whole lot of aroma or flavor in this beer. There was a crisp bite in the aftertaste thanks to the hops. While I'm not a pilsener fan I did find it crisp and refreshing

Pour was a light golden color good head and lacing. Aroma was lots of citrus and bready. Flavor was of bready malts citrus hops and spices. Very refreshing. Good half way beer of a 36 mile bike ride.

Poured a clear golden color, nice white head, decent lacing all the way down, not the top of the style. The aroma was citrusey hops, bready malts, pilsy notes. The flavor was bready malts, some slightly spicey hops, definite citrus and some light floral hops, lightly fruity almost like a koelsch in that sense. Mouthfeel was crisp and refreshing. A great mid-stopping point on the bike ride from Fenwick Island to Rehobeth and back. Cheers, bfeld!
