Deep red in color with a sweet, caramelly aroma. Complex malt flavors and a very subtle smokiness end with a crisp, hoppy finish.

On initial pour it seemed to be an orange color. On sitting it went to a deep amber color. A small off white head rises briefly above. Settles into a thin ringlet. Roasted breadiness in the nose. Nutty, bready and grassy dominate in a well crafted tasting. Medium bodied, well carbonated and smooth.

From Pt Roberts (WA) Marketplace. Poured a cloudy, cola-coloured body beneath a thin, tan head. Aroma was of roasted malt. The taste was initially sweet and moved to a bitter finish. Nice! Mouthfeel was solid and smooth. I don't like Irish ales as much as in the past, but this one ain't half bad.
