Clear dark yellow, big white foam head. And although tripel is one of my favorites styles, this one just is a bit too sweet for me, pity. Nice aroma, but lakcing in taste. (Velp 201503)

Nice beer here. Great pour with super thick head that refuses to go away. Syrupy mouth feel. Bubbly too. Crisp flavor. A little clove and lemmon rind. Peppery finish. This would be a supurb summer beer. I should have bought more.

Sampled on 1/1/11. This Abbey Tripel pours a slightly hazy hay yellow gold color from a 33cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity, yeasty and sweet. A medium bodied tripel. The malts are fruity and sweet, yeasty, with lots of peach and orange flavors. Nice carbonation. Sweet with a touch of dryness at the finish. A somewhat delicate tripel, with a nice sweetness up front yet finishing somewhat dry. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Poured a golden color with huge white head. Aroma was of light fruits, grass and tons of yeast. Flavor was much the same lots of grass hops refreshing brew from a style that has been letting down here of late.

Bottle from Cletus if I'm not mistaken. The bottle opening was loud with a pssssft. Pour featured a generous white colored head, full hazy golden colored body. The aroma was full of yeast, grass, some golden lighter fruits. The flavor followed suit, light fruity esters, yeast, firm full spicey grassy hops that really kept this dry and clean. Lacking the phenolic depth that I'd love in a tripel, but a dandy brew. The mouthfeel was clean, warding off any stickiness that can kill this style. Thanks, John, for the brew.

My wife bought me this one. Pours hazy orange, good amount of cabonation, with a huge fluffy head. The aroma is floral and fruity with a little bit of straw. Flavors consist of bananas, cloves and spices but also some farmhouse Saison-like qualities with a barnyard funk taste. The beer finishes a little sour and tart. Overall a pretty good beer, this kept me interested the whole way through.

Pours copper with a nice lasting white head. Smells of perfume, dry malt, some bananas, light spice, touches of dough. Tastes dry with some fruity undertones. The flavor profile is initially dominated by a sweet sugary presence that thankfully subsides as the beer warms. Some nice floral notes emerge as does some grassy elements. I'd like some more crisp pilsner malt presence in this one, but overall, not bad.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is fruits, wood, malts and some alcohol. Flavour is fruits, some wood, mild parfumeishlike notes as well as some acidic notes. Overall very sweet, and not too pleasant.
