Pitch dark with quickly dissapearing brown foam head. Aroma is cold coffee, some chocolate. Likewise taste, surprisingly not too bitter. Lasting coffee aftertaste. (Velp 201404)

Wonderful coffee stout. Great way to wind down a small tasting with some friends. Not sure of the age, but exceptionally mellowed and smooth. Rich upfront coffee, chocolate, and a touch nutty. High end flavors and aromas. Dark pour with a thin brown head and nice lacing.

Dark brown body, pretty much black with a very brown cap floating on top...... stupidly long lasting. Big sweet coffee aroma, chocolate, cinnomen, clean black dirt. Taste is same, clean, crisp, yummy. Sweetness that lingers, mild bitterness. I like this beer! Dry finish. Raisins, no booze, so much dirt. Why are the good beer to pricy to but more then once?

The coffee aspect of this beer was great, and prevented it from being mediocre. The feel was a bit gassy and overcarbonated for the style, and there was a slight vegetal bitterness (that thankfully went away quite a bit as the beer warmed and openned up). A touch of smoke, lots of young coffee beans, chocolate. Nice bittersweet beer, though I was hoping for better.

180 ml green bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Bottle No. 169 out of a batch of 1416 bottles. Brewed 8th March 2010. OG 1098, FG 1028. Czech hops, bittering hop: Premiant, aroma hop: Saaz. Recommended serving temperature 10 degrees C. Black (= very dark brown) colour, big and lasting fluffy beige head. Strong aroma of coffee, hints of dry wood. The flavour has also strong notes of coffee, with a roasty and hoppy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Quite dry, just a slight acidity. Good, but not brilliant.
