Black with no foam. Aroma is burnt barley, smoky. Taste is dark chocolate and somewhat smokey oak wood. Aftertaste dry bitter. not sure if I like this at all.

180 ml black-waxed capped green bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bruichladdich barrel from 1972. ABV is 9.5%. Bottle No. 364 out of a batch of 1776 bottles. Brewed 3. Dec. 2009, bottled 7. June 2010. Bittering hop Nugget, final hop Amarillo, 96.9 EBU. OG 1100, FG 1030. The beer starts gushing out of the bottle shortly after opening. Pitch black colour, huge to big tan head. Strong aroma of peated whisky, tar, old rope and salty seas, also strong roasty notes. The flavour is roasty with a certain malty sweetness, dominated by peat smoke, oak and tar, the high bitterness feels kind of subdued. A pretty impressive beer in my book, but not the right choice if you hate Islay whisky.

Pours out in a black colour with a small disappearing bubbly tan head. Rich aroma of wood, sea salt, wood, burnt malts and iodine. Full-bodied with rich notes of tar, salty licorice, wood, iodine, whiskey, burnt malts and and black pepper from mild alcohol. Smooth velvety mouthfeel. Long peaty and warming finish of smoke, salt, seaweed, tobacco, wood and licorice. Love this stuff, wished I had a crate of this tn my closet.

Bottled@Monks Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Quite much pitch black colour with not too much head. Aroma is roasted malts, dark dry fruits, bunch of smooth whisky, some vanilla as well as some slight wooden notes as well. Flavour is very much the same in a really pleasant balance.
