My third and last of the "Trader Joe cheap-ass singles" from New Zealand. Speight's Gold Medal Ale was somewhat tasty, and Lion Red was merely OK at best. But this beer, on the other hand, is more-or-less crap.
Way-too-hip sideways label, with platitudes talking about this being New Zealand's number one lager, and "it's smooth, full flavor is real refreshment for where the action is". Uh, yeah. OK.
Fizzy yellow head that quickly fades, sugary-sweet aroma, and depressingly ugly flavor. Tastes like sweat, to be brutally honest.
I've had worse beers overall, but as far as beers from New Zeland go, this may be the "number one lager beer", it's also the worst I've had from the country.

4 percent, what the fuck. Looks like bud to me. Smells like bud. Tastes like a high end busch though. Interesting, yet sill not at all good.
