Tasted at the Georgia Craft Brew Challenge. All I've got to say is that between tiny Copper Creek in Athens and Dogwood in Atlanta that Georgia will be rolling in great-tasting big beers if the Senate and Governor approve HB 645 in 2004. I've got a sneaking suspicion that 5 Seasons will be helping out in this area as well. Now for the beer. It was nicely black with a good thick, creamy, medium tan head, the kind that pockmarks easily. The aroma was very chocolatey, that quintessential Imperial Stout overripe fruit smell and a little alcohol. In the flavor, the chocolate and fruit was joined by nougat, low roasting barley levels. Not bitter or harsh, much almost underbalanced in that area (but not enough to be a flaw in my eyes.) My only qualm was the the body seemed a little thin. Still a good imperial stout.
